When is comes to security, BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) beats Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)

Does security matter to you?

Ultimately, that's the question you should be asking yourself when it comes to mobile and wireless communication, but few people do.  Instead, most people look for the aesthetics, or the latest feature, and ultimately those become the motivating force behind their decision.

Ultimately, it's all about doing what everyone else is doing too, very few people are leaders and buck the trend of the masses, but when it comes to mobile security there is one clear leader.

The leader is BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)

This past weekend details were leaked that proved that certain apps for the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) IOS were being hacked, and that made user information vulnerable.  Recently, Harman International Industries Inc  (NYSE:HAR)  has had hacking issues pertaining to connected vehicles as well, and Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) quietly dealt with a hack too, proving that hackers are actively looking to access personal devices over mobile networks.

Although BBRY fell behind in the Smartphone revolution race when they allowed their handheld market share to dwindle (awful management decisions at the time), one thing remains true, they operate the most secure mobile network on the planet.

Think back to the hacking incident that happened to Angela Merkel; after that, she turned to Blackberry to prevent future hacks.  Look at what happened in Pakistan too, for additional evidence.  Pakistan loves to spy on their officials and citizens, but they were unable to spy on people who were using Blackberry's, so Pakistan has outlawed the use of Blackberry phones in that country.

I am not saying that Blackberry's are the coolest phones on the market, and I am not suggesting that the masses will even care about security because the normal guy out there follows the lead of others and does not make decisions for himself, but for the people who really care about security, mobile security, and even the security of their connected vehicles, there is one very clear leader, BlackBerry.

While most people will remain focused on the hottest new feature from Apple, those who really want to protect their personal information will turn to BlackBerry.  Apple's vulnerability is just another incident proving the threats to personal devices, but those can be avoided.  It requires not following the masses, and that means independent thinkers may be the only ones who will consider this, but BlackBerry is a clear winner here.

Already, most of the independent thinkers on the planet use Blackberry products, including government officials and Financial Industry experts who would be financially responsible for hacked information.  One day this will also matter to the general public again too.
